Even in a pandemic, the show must go on!!!! CCAP’s students from Cybersecurity Software Operations (Teacher, Mr. Hallwig) and Cybersecurity Systems Technology (Teacher, Dr. Emerson) programs came together to compete in the Annual CyberPatriot Competition.

CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association (AFA) to direct students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation’s future.

Through a series of online competition rounds, four teams, which encompassed all of CCAP’s Cybersecurity students, were given a set of virtual operating systems. They were tasked with locating and fixing cybersecurity vulnerabilities, while maintaining critical services.

Parents were in virtual attendance, cheering and encouraging their students while Mr. Hallwig, teacher and coach, rolled a computer around the class so the parents could see their students in action!  Dr. Emerson observed the teams to ensure students were on track.  Parents also had the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback in real time via the Google Chat.

This Friday past Friday, October 22, 2021 was the first round of three (3). If our teams do well, we will have the opportunity to advanced further and participate in Regionals and Nationals on the following dates: Friday, November 12, 2021 and Friday December 10, 2021.

The results will be in sometime after this weekend

Stay tuned!
