Students who enjoy working with hardware and are likely to approach problems logically, effectively troubleshoot performance concerns and show interest in software/hardware should explore exciting training and career opportunities in information technology.

The Cybersecurity Systems Technology program is a two (2) year dual credit program that prepares students to enter the workforce upon graduation in the field of Cybersecurity and/or continue training through post-secondary education programs at the certificate, associates, or baccalaureate level to pursue advanced-level careers. This program is designed to prepare students to take the examination sponsored by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). Instructions include configuration of PCs and components, hardware and software installation, and upgrades. Additionally, students are eligible to earn 12 hours of dual-credit toward an Associate’s degree at Paul D. Camp Community College.

Participation in the program prepares students to earn the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) industry certification, pending a successful outcome on the exam.

Employment Outlook:
 Employment of computer support specialists is expected to grow 20 percent from 2016 to 2026, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Job prospects should be favorable. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree and a strong technical background should have the best job opportunities.
