Students who want to work in a fast-paced field, have the ability to problem-solve, and enjoy working with tools and technology, should explore exciting training and career opportunities in the automotive service industry!

The Auto Service Technician Program is a two (2) year program that prepares students to enter the workforce upon graduation in a variety of settings and/or continue training through post-secondary education programs to become Specialist and Master Technicians.

Participation in the program enables students to earn ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification in five (5) areas: Engine Repair, Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, and Auto Maintenance and Light Repair . Additionally, students may choose to participate in the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence Program). Qualified ASE students may receive a 12-month paid internship with a local dealership and a scholarship through Snap-on Tools.

Typical Salary in Virginia: $23,420- $66,950 depending on education level and specialization.
National Estimated Salary: $45,900

Employment Outlook: Employment of automotive service technicians and mechanics is expected to grow 6 percent from 2016 to 2026, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Job opportunities for qualified applicants should be very good.
